I'm buying." Then we could sit and chat and evaluate the guys that came into the cafe! We could rate them from 1 to 10! VBG Lay down those bristles, and put a little Irish cream in your coffee! Add to my tomorrow's list: Stop at the State run liquor store and pick up some Irish Cream! VBG (P.S. You'd like the guys here in our valley. This is a University town and students and prof's come in regularly.)Nancy Silkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13048388865894579540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-918164754148666106.post-71456152202325268492012-11-12T13:09:12.248-08:002012-11-12T13:09:12.248-08:00I am miffed. One picture showed people talking over coffee, laughing and seemingly enjoying themselves. The other picture showed everyone engaged with their phones ignoring the others.

Perhaps I over-fantasized that these guys would make good friends. Perhaps that's what makes it hurt all that more, which then angers me.

I just don't understand.

Maybe I'll just let people come into my life, instead of going after them. I just need to be where the right people are. It's messaging, texting, FB, Twitter, and while some friends can be gained others seem to fade into the distance. That's something I've experienced. Remember, Emily Post's lessons have gone out the window! (It's one old, old book I refuse to remove from the Senior Center bookshelf.) Real friends acknowledge you; new acquaintances may just have too many other people in their lives. It's hard not to feel detection when one reaches out. It's like getting the hand slapped. You're right, that's the time to go on with one's life, take the dog for a walk, go out and have a delicious lunch or dinner, and look at the stars and feel the warm breeze. Life is good if we just enjoy what is around us, so often it doesn't include people.Nancy Silkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13048388865894579540noreply@blogger.com
